Corrosion Resistance:

Polyethylene, an inert material, is highly resistant to a wide range of chemical media, with only a few strong oxidants posing a threat. This makes it exceptionally corrosion-resistant.

 

Leak-proof:

Polyethylene pipes are primarily connected using welding methods such as hot melt or fusion. This ensures that the joint material and structure are identical to the pipe itself, creating a seamless integration. Tests have confirmed that the tensile and burst strength of the joints exceed that of the pipe body, effectively withstanding tensile and hoop stresses.

 

High Toughness:

Polyethylene pipes are highly resilient, with elongation at break typically exceeding 500%. This high toughness allows the pipes to adapt well to uneven settlements, making them excellent for seismic applications.

 

Excellent Flexibility:

The flexibility of polyethylene pipes allows them to be coiled and supplied in longer lengths, reducing the need for numerous joints. They are easy to handle during construction, allowing for adjustments to pipe shapes and sizes as needed, and can be inserted into old pipes to restore original dimensions.

 

Scratch Resistance:

Studies indicate that PE80 grade polyethylene pipes exhibit strong resistance to slow crack growth (SCG) and scratches. PE100 polyethylene pipe materials offer even better scratch resistance, enhancing their durability.

 

Resistance to Rapid Crack Propagation:

Polyethylene pipes have excellent resistance to rapid crack propagation. This is particularly important for larger diameter and thicker-walled pipes operating under high pressure, where the risk of rapid cracking is greater. PE100 pipes are especially suited for such applications. International standards for polyethylene gas pipes (IS04437-1997 and EN1555) include criteria for rapid crack propagation resistance.

 

Long Service Life:

Under conditions of≤60°C, polyethylene pipes can have a service life of more than 50 years, making them a durable choice for long-term applications.
