LSAW steel pipe is the professional term forlongitudinal submerged arc welded steel pipe. Longitudinal submerged arc welded steel pipes are produced by using a single medium-thick plate as raw material, pressing (rolling) the steel plate into a tube blank in a mold or forming machine, and using double-sided submerged arc welding to expand the diameter. The finished LSAW steel pipe has complete specifications, good toughness and plasticity, uniform and dense welds, and has the advantages of large pipe diameter, thick pipe wall, high pressure resistance, low temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance. LSAW Steel Pipe Forming Method:

According to different molding methods, it can be divided into:

- UOE steel pipe

After pre-bending the edge of a single steel plate, it goes through processes such as U forming, O forming, internal welding, external welding, and mechanical cold expansion.

- JCOE steel pipe

According to "JCOE" pre-welding, shaping, and post-weld cold expansion.

- HME steel pipe

Shaping according to "CCO" mandrel rolling method, cold expansion after welding and other processes.

 

Main Technical Parameters of LSAW Steel Pipe:

- Wall thickness: X80 steel grade can reach 6.4-23.8mm (0.252-0.94in); X70 steel grade can reach 6.4-26.4mm (0.252-1.04in). When the material is reduced, the wall thickness can increase to varying degrees.

- Product standards: ISO3183-3, API Spec 5L, GB9711, etc.

- Diameter: Φ406.4-Φ1422.4mm

- Maximum length: 12.2m, wall thickness is X70 steel grade 6.4-26.4mm

 

Characteristics of LSAW Steel Pipe:

1) The steel pipe has longitudinal welds, and both internal and external welds are welded by submerged arc welds.

2) After the overall mechanical diameter expansion process, the internal stress of the steel pipe is small and evenly distributed, which can effectively prevent stress corrosion cracking, has high dimensional accuracy, and is convenient for on-site welding construction.

3) Using precision welding technology after pre-welding, the welding process is stable and the weld quality is high.

4) Welds are easy to implement non-destructive testing during production and on-site non-destructive testing re-inspection during use.

5) The range of product specifications is large, and it can produce both small diameter and large wall thickness steel pipes and large diameter and large wall thickness steel pipes.
