Proper stacking of SSAW steel pipes is essential for maintaining their quality and ensuring safe storage and handling. Given their size and material properties, it is important to follow specific guidelines to prevent damage, corrosion, and deformation. These principles apply to various environments, including warehouses, outdoor storage, and transportation areas, to ensure the pipes remain in optimal condition and are easily accessible when needed.

Here are the key principles and requirements for stacking SSAW steel pipes:
· Basic Stacking Requirements:
SSAW steel pipes should be stacked according to their types and specifications while ensuring stability and safety. Different types of materials must be stacked separately to prevent confusion and avoid mutual corrosion.
· Corrosion Prevention:
It is prohibited to store items that may corrode the steel near the SSAW steel pipe stack to prevent damage and degradation of the pipes.
· Stable and Elevated Base:
The base of the SSAW steel pipe stack must be elevated, solid, and level to avoid moisture absorption and prevent deformation of the pipes.
· Separation of Similar Materials:
Materials of the same type should be stacked separately based on the order in which they were stored to maintain organization and ease of access.
· Outdoor Stacking Conditions:
For SSAW steel pipes stacked outdoors, wooden pads or stone strips should be placed underneath to prevent direct contact with the ground. The stacking surface should be slightly inclined to allow for drainage. Care should be taken to ensure the materials are placed upright to avoid bending and deformation.
· Stacking Height and Width:
The stacking height of SSAW steel pipes should not exceed 1.2 meters for manual handling, 1.5 meters for mechanical handling, and the stack width should not exceed 2.5 meters to maintain stability and facilitate safe operations.
· Access and Inspection Channels:
A certain channel space should be left between stacks. The inspection channel should be approximately 0.5 meters wide, while the access channel, depending on the material size and transport machinery, should generally be between 1.5 to 2.0 meters wide.
· Steel Material Stacking Method:
For other steel materials such as angle steel or channel steel, these should be stacked with the mouth facing downward when stored outdoors. I-beams should be placed upright, with the I-channel surface facing down to prevent water accumulation and rusting.
· Height of the Stack's Base:
The bottom of the stack should be raised appropriately:
On a cement floor in a warehouse, the height should be 0.1 meters.
On a mud floor, the height should be between 0.2 to 0.5 meters.
For outdoor storage, the cement floor should have a height of 0.3 to 0.5 meters, while the sand or mud surface should have a height of 0.5 to 0.7 meters to ensure proper ventilation and drainage.
