SSAW steel pipe is abbreviation of spiral submerged arc welded steel pipe, is a spiral welded steel pipe produced by double-sided submerged arc welding, which is suitable for transporting large quantities of oil and gas. The following Union Steel will give you a brief introduction to rust removal and anticorrosion process of SSAW steel pipe.
Rust Removal of SSAW Steel Pipe:
1. Manual Rust Removal
Use a scraper and file to remove scale and casting sand on the surface of pipes, equipment and containers, then use a wire brush to remove floating rust on the surface of pipes, equipment and containers, then sand them with sandpaper, and finally wipe them with cotton mesh.
2. Mechanical Rust Removal
First, use a scraper or file to remove the scale and casting sand on the surface of the pipe; then one person is in front of the descaling machine and the other is behind the descaling machine, and the pipe is repeatedly derusted in the descaling machine until the true color of the metal is exposed; apply oil Wipe it with cotton silk before cleaning to remove the floating dust on the surface.
Anticorrosion Process of SSAW Steel Pipe:
a. Surface-mounted pipes, equipment, and containers must be painted with a layer of anti-rust paint first, and then painted with topcoat twice before handover. If there are requirements for heat preservation and anti-condensation, two layers of anti-rust paint should be applied;
b. Concealed pipelines, equipment, and containers are coated with two layers of antirust paint. The second coat of anti-rust paint can only be painted after the first coat is completely dry, and the consistency of the anti-rust paint must be suitable;
c. When the buried pipeline is used as an anti-corrosion layer, such as winter construction, it is advisable to use rubber solvent oil or aviation gasoline to dissolve 30A or 30B petroleum asphalt. Two kinds:
① Manual brushing: Manual brushing should be applied in layers, and each layer should be reciprocated and criss-crossed, and the coating should be kept uniform without missing or falling off;
② Mechanical spraying: The sprayed paint flow should be perpendicular to the paint surface during spraying. When the paint surface is flat, the distance between the nozzle and the paint surface should be 250-350mm. If the paint surface is an arc surface, the distance between the nozzle and the paint surface should be about 400mm. , The movement of the nozzle should be uniform when spraying, the speed should be kept at 10-18m/min, and the compressed air pressure used for painting should be 0.2-0.4MPa.
