Steel coil is finished steel sheet or strip that has been coiled or wound after rolling with the width of the metal sheet being greater than its thickness. Steel coil with certain coatings can be weather-resistant, protect against moisture, and is eco-friendly. Steel coil is produced through different processes depending on the desired outcome.
(1)Hot-rolled steel coil is steel plate that is rolled at a high temperature, making the steel easier to manipulate. Due to the quick and easy process, hot-rolled steel saves time and is less expensive to manufacture.
(2)Cold-rolled steel coil has a nicer finish and is more durable than hot-rolled steel. Cold-rolling is a process where the steel is rolled at room temperature, below its recrystallization temperature. While cold-rolled steel coil is more superior to other coils, cold-rolled steel can be harder to manipulate due to the higher carbon content.
(3)Galvanized steel coil is created through a hot-dipped process that dips the metal into zinc for a nice smooth coating. The coating creates a strong rust resistance and prolongs the life of the steel coils.
Surface treatment of stainless steel coils
No.1: A rough, matte finish from hot rolling used in industrial applications. NO.1 has a smooth and bright surface and is suitable for fields such as building decoration.
2B: A smooth, semi-reflective finish from cold rolling used in general-purpose applications. 2B has a poor surface finish and is suitable for occasions with low surface requirements.
BA(Bright Annealed): A smooth, semi-reflective finish from cold rolling, used in general-purpose applications. BA has a good surface finish and is suitable for making high-end home appliances and other products.
No.4: A brushed, satin finish with fine polishing lines, often used in architecture and kitchens.
HL(Hairline): A brushed, satin finish with fine polishing lines, often used in architecture and kitchens.
No.8/Mirror: A high-gloss mirror finish used for aesthetic and decorative purposes.
characteristics of Stainless Steel Coil
High-Strength
Stainless steel coils are extremely strong and tough. They maintain their shape and stability in a variety of applications.
Corrosion Resistance
Stainless steel has a chromium content of 17%- 22%, and an oxide layer forms on the surface. This prevents further oxidation and corrosion.
Ductility
Stainless steel coils can be stretched and formed into various shapes. It is suitable for applications that require precise forming.
Excellent Surface Finish
The smooth surface provides a stylish, visually appealing appearance and is easy to clean. It is ideal for decorative purposes.
