Concrete weight coating is commonly used on offshore pipelines. CWC pipe coating ensures gas and oil pipelines installed offshore do not float and protect them from collision damage. In order to adapt to the different conditions of the subsea environment, the pipeline can be in different sizes, and can be coated with concrete of different weight/thickness/density, and can also be treated with anti-corrosion coating and insulating coating. The following is typical range of concrete coated pipe dimensions, read on to learn more.

Concrete Coated Pipe

Concrete Coated Pipe Dimensions Range:

Mother pipe standard: API 5L grade B to grade 80. ISO 3183 Levels L245 to L555.

Diameter range: 6” to 60”

Pipe thickness: SCH 20, SCH 40, SCH 80

Length: up to 12 meters

Concrete Weight Coating Density:

Concrete formulations can be custom made to any specified density specification, typically 140, 165, and 190 pounds per cubic foot, with smaller or higher densities also available.

Density range: 1800-3450 kg/m3 (112-215 lbs/ft3)

Concrete Compressive Strength: From 3000 psi to 7200 psi. Up to 50 MPa.
