Hastelloy C276 (UNS N10276) is a highly durable wrought nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy with the addition of tungsten. Known for its outstanding resistance to both oxidizing and moderately reducing corrosion, this alloy is particularly effective in environments with highly aggressive chemicals. It demonstrates exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking, as well as excellent protection against localized corrosion. Hastelloy C276 is widely used in many challenging chemical process environments, including highly acidic inorganic solutions, chlorine gas, chlorinated compounds, formic acid, acetic acid, and seawater. It is one of the few materials capable of resisting the corrosion caused by wet chlorine, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide solutions.
