Large diameter spiral steel pipe adopts spiral welding process, which is suitable for transporting large amounts of oil and gas. So, what are the precautions for storage and transportation of large diameter spiral welded pipes? Here to tell you about.

1. Pay attention to the weather early:

When it is necessary to transport large-diameter spiral steel pipes, manufacturers need to pay attention to the weather conditions on the day of delivery one day in advance. In case of rain, take protective measures and cover the product with a rain cloth to prevent the product from being corroded by rain.

2. Package product in good condition:

Large-diameter spiral steel pipes are different from ordinary products. It is relatively large in size, heavy in weight, and has a smooth surface, so it is easy to scatter during transportation. If the customer requires the surface of the large-diameter spiral tube to be free from damage such as unevenness, it can be considered to use a protective device between the tubes. It can be protected and tied with rubber, straw rope, fiber cloth, plastic, pipe cap, etc. If the purchaser has special requirements for the packing material and packing method of the spiral steel pipe, it shall be specified in the contract; if not specified, the packing material and packing method shall be selected by the supplier.

1) For thin-walled products, adopt tube support or tube outer frame protection measures. The material of the bracket and the outer frame is the same steel as that of the pipe.

2) It is generally stipulated that large-diameter spiral pipes should be packed in bulk. If the customer requires binding, it can be considered as appropriate, but the caliber must be between 159MM and 500MM. The bundled materials should be bundled and clamped with steel belts, and each strand should be twisted into at least two strands, and appropriately enlarged according to the outer diameter and weight of the pipe to avoid loosening. Cut-to-length products must not be bundled.

3) If there are thread buckles at both ends of the pipe, they should be protected by thread protectors. Brush lube or rust preventive on the threads. Both ends of the pipe are beveled, and nozzle protection devices can be installed at both ends as required.

4) When the large-diameter spiral pipe is loaded into the container, the container should be covered with soft moisture-proof devices such as textile cloth and straw mat. In order to prevent the pipe from being scattered in the container, a protective bracket can be bundled or welded on its outside.

3. Choose a flat road for transportation:

When transporting, try to choose a flat ground. Although the distance may be relatively long, it is relatively safe and must be driven at a stable and uniform speed. Do not brake or accelerate suddenly, otherwise it is easy to cause large-diameter spiral steel pipes to collide, scatter, and be damaged.
