The Union Steel Industry, a leading manufacturer of carbon steel pipes, introduces the main types of cooling beds used in the production of spiral welded steel pipes. Here are the key types.

Single Chain Cooling Bed:

This cooling bed typically has a climbing structure. It consists of a forward transport chain and a fixed guide rail, both supported by a transmission system.

The steel pipe is placed between the grabs of the forward transport chain, with the fixed guide rail supporting its weight.

The forward transport chain’s claws and the fixed guide rail’s friction cause the steel pipe to rotate, ensuring continuous contact and smooth rotation.

Double Chain Cooling Bed:

This cooling bed features both a forward transport chain and a reverse transport chain, each with its own transmission system.

The steel pipe is placed between the forward transport chain grabs, with the reverse chain supporting its weight.

The forward transport chain’s thrust moves the steel pipe forward, while the reverse chain’s friction induces continuous rotational motion, maintaining smooth rotation and uniform cooling.

New Chain Cooling Bed:

Combining features of single and double chain cooling beds, this bed is divided into uphill and downhill sections.

The uphill section uses a double-chain structure (forward and reverse transport chains) to ensure continuous rotation and forward movement.

The downhill section uses a single-chain structure, with the steel pipe’s weight facilitating rotation and movement.

Stepping Rack Cooling Bed:

The bed surface consists of two sets of racks: a static rack (assembled on a fixed beam) and a moving rack (assembled on a moving beam).

The lifting mechanism raises the moving rack to lift the steel pipe, causing it to roll along the rack's tooth profile.

The stepping mechanism then advances the moving rack, which lowers the steel pipe into the fixed rack's groove, completing a cycle.

Screw Cooling Bed:

This bed comprises a main transmission device, a screw, and a fixed cooling platform.

The screw includes a core and a helix, with the fixed cooling platform’s working surface positioned higher than the screw core but lower than the helix line.

The steel pipe’s weight is supported by the fixed cooling platform, while the screw’s rotation, driven by the main transmission device, propels the steel pipe forward for cooling.

Each type of cooling bed is designed to ensure efficient and uniform cooling of spiral welded steel pipes during production, enhancing their quality and durability.
