Secure Packing:

Spiral steel pipes should be packed securely to prevent them from becoming loose or damaged during handling, transportation, and storage.

 

Customer-Specific Packaging:

If the customer has specific requirements for packaging materials and methods, these should be detailed in the contract. If not specified, the supplier will choose the appropriate materials and methods.

 

Regulatory Compliance:

Packaging materials must comply with relevant regulations. If no specific packaging material is mandated, the materials used should be suitable for the intended purpose, minimize waste, and avoid environmental pollution.

 

Protective Measures for Surface Damage:

To prevent exterior damage from bumps, protective devices such as rubber, straw rope, fiber cloth, plastic, or caps should be used between the spiral steel pipes.

 

Support for Thin-Walled Pipes:

Thin-walled spiral steel pipes should be supported or protected by an outer framework. The brackets and outer frame should be made of the same material as the pipes.

 

Bundling and Strapping:

Bulk handling of spiral steel pipes should follow state regulations. If bundling is requested by the customer, it should be considered for pipes with diameters between 159mm and 500mm. Bundled materials should be secured with steel straps, twisted into at least two strands, and increased as necessary according to the pipe’s diameter and weight to prevent loosening.

For pipes with threaded ends, thread protectors should be used, and threads should be coated with lubricant or rust inhibitor. If the ends are exposed, nozzle guards can be added as needed.

 

Container Loading:

When loading pipes into a container, the container should be lined with soft, moisture-proof materials such as textile cloth or straw mats. To prevent the pipes from scattering, they can be tied together or supported with protective devices welded to the outer part of the pipes.

 

By following these measures, the risk of damage to spiral steel pipes during loading and unloading can be significantly reduced, ensuring they arrive in good condition.
