JIS G3444 STK500 carbon steel tubes are utilized in civil engineering and architectural structures such as steel towers, footing piles, foundation piles, landslide suppression piles, and so on.

  • MANUFACTURING METHOD OF JIS G3444 GRADE STK500 STEEL PIPE

    The manufacturing method of STK500 steel Pipe shall be as follows:


    STK500 steel tubes shall be fabricated using a combination of the tube production technique and the finishing method described in table 1. The tube may be subjected to suitable heat treatment if necessary.


    If the client requests it, tubes can be produced from coated steel sheet or coated steel strip.


    Bevel end finishing may be performed per the purchaser’s specifications, in which case the shape should be determined by the manufacturer and the purchaser’s consent.

    For the tubes of outside diameter 40 mm or under, the elongation value in this table shall not be applied. However, the test result for these tubes shall be recorded. Further, the elongation may be specified by agreement between the manufacturer and the purchaser.

  • OTHER TESTS

    The buyer can request a hydraulic test, a non-destructive test at the weld, and so forth. In such circumstances, the test items, test piece sampling process, test method, and acceptance criterion should be as previously agreed upon between the maker and the purchaser.
